Even though Post is a new name for most of us, it has been an important part of South Hamilton history since 1924. The historic building at 16 Bay Rd. was home to the South Hamilton Post Office, and a place for residents to send and pick up letters. In response to the Great Depression, and a drop in the postage rate (from three cents to 2 cents), the Postmaster added more opportunities for residents to pick up their mail. At Post, which at the time was known as “the brick block building”, letters were piled on a table, and a bell was rung to let residents know that they could come and retrieve their mail.     Four of us had a wonderful dinner at Ma Maison-----foie gras, scallops, sweetbreads, ray, duck breast, chocolate soufflé and house pinot noir were exceptional----service was attentive but not obtrusive, ambiance is Parisian bistro with a pleasant buzz. Can't wait to return.

    Visited The Banks with colleagues for a work dinner and was pleased with the full experience - from host stand all the way through meal service. Host was accommodating our group asking to not be seated near the door on a cold night, server was attentive (albeit busy with many tables), and food runners were prompt and accurate. Food was delicious across the board - from soups to appetizers to mains - but the portion sizes were a little light relative to the cost. Not unreasonable for a special occasion or work event. Would gladly recommend and visit again.
