Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Daniel Island

Tavern & Table on Shem Creek never disappoints! The food is consistently amazing—our favorites include the blue cheese wedge salad, the blue crab dip, and the whole fish, which is always fresh, light, and satisfying. The burger is also a standout—you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Beyond the food, the service was truly exceptional. Our server was incredibly patient and welcoming. We were catching up with friends from out of town and got so wrapped up in conversation that we completely forgot to check the menu. Instead of rushing us, our server reassured us to take our time and enjoy the evening, which made us feel right at home. That kind of hospitality is exactly why we love Charleston—and why our friends are now considering moving here! The ambiance is great, and we usually love sitting on the indoor patio, but with our group of seven, we were seated in the main dining room this time. While it wasn’t our first choice (we had requested the patio), the overall atmosphere was still enjoyable. If there’s one thing that could make Tavern & Table even better, it would be designated golf cart parking for us locals. We tend to park where we can, but having dedicated spots—like Saltwater Cowboys does—would be divine and really check all the boxes for the ultimate Shem Creek experience. Between the fantastic food, excellent service, and prime location, Tavern & Table remains one of our top Charleston spots. Can’t beat the value, can’t beat the experience—highly recommend!
