Best Neighbourhood Gem Restaurants in Avondale

Four of us came in for dinner and had the pleasure of sitting in Teghan’s section—she was fantastic! The pasta was expertly prepared, with the pappardelle being my personal favorite. We ordered nearly every dessert, and each of us had a different favorite, which speaks to their quality. I also appreciated the excellent selection of non-alcoholic beverages. We will definitely be back!

The Franklin Room is a fabulous restaurant. I went with a pal in town from Melbourne, Australia. The atmosphere is very cool. The Franklin Room is 1 of those restaurants that flies under the radar. But if you know, you know. Drink options are fabulous. Whether you're drinking wine, cocktails, bourbon, scotch the options are top drawer. We ate the lamb chop appetizer which was cooked to perfection. The chicken roulade was again very well cooked. So much so that my pal finished the dish then told me how good it was. He did not share! I had the Spicy Bourbon Mussels, which as always are my favorite dish on the menu at The Franklin Room. A selection of amazing single malts washed down our meal. I highly recommend going to The Franklin Room. Book a table as the restaurant is small. Awesome!!

Le Bouchon is our favorite restaurant, and I have been going there since it opened in 1993. It's as close to being transported to a neighborhood bistro in Paris as possible. The food is excellent and Oliver and his long-tenured staff provide a fantastic experience!

Tuesday, 03/11/2025 Linda Park, West Chicago Tonight marks the culmination of our Chicago adventure, and I've made reservations on OpenTable for French cuisine at Mon Ami Gabi, a testament to exceptional dining. Mon Ami Gabi has three locations: - Bethesda, Maryland - Lincoln Park, Chicago - Las Vegas, NV (Paris Hotel & Casino) I've had the privilege of experiencing two out of the three locations. This location is nestled in Highland Park inside the luxury Belen-Stratford Building, exuding refinement. The evening commenced at the front host, where we were warmly welcomed by a friendly host. We were promptly seated by the window, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. We were greeted by a remarkably attentive waitress named Liz. The ambiance was nothing short of perfection! The music was fitting, crafting an enchanting atmosphere. All of our appetizers and entrees were a culinary masterpiece. I had the pleasure of ordering the specials: - Duck A L’Orange, expertly prepared to perfection. The duck was savory, the meat was tender, and the sauce was truly sublime! - Hanger Steaks for both of my colleagues, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Appetizers: - Melted Brie - Escargots De Bourgogne - Warmed baguettes Desserts: - Crème Brûlée Wine: - Two glasses of Red Bordeaux Whenever you have the opportunity to visit the Mon Ami Gabi establishment, seize it, and your palate will be eternally grateful. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant, a true gem that will leave you in awe.
