It was originally a six-stool bar and 20-person dining facility. Schlesinger's son, Mickey, and his partner Dick Basso bought the club in 1955. Soon after, they renamed the club The Brass Door. Over the years, the partners expanded the facility to include a 20-stool bar, 50-seater cocktail lounge and a dining area for 160 guests. Following a brief closure in 1994 due to a fire, the restaurant was rebuilt from its original location.

    De La Torre's never fails to offer and serve a Wonderful Lunch or Dinner at an Excellent Value! Everything on the Menu is worth trying but the Daily Specials just put De La Torre's a cut above. Pleasanton is home to De La Torre's but it truly is the Local Gem of the Tri-Valley!

    The service here is quick and great. Restaurant is a little crowded inside and does get loud at times during peak periods- which is normal. If you want a more intimate experience or date night then I would come during non peak hours. The crab gnocchi is worth while. The risotto balls were a bit too cheesy. I had them before and they were not (not sure if recipe changed) but if you love cheese- go for it Overall- a very cute Italian place for a nice fancier family dinner.

    Dined here on a Sunday night, for a birthday dinner for just our small family. We return here when we want a warm and freindly atmosphere. The service was attentive, we had great entertainment at the right sound level for dinner, and a dazzling sparkler candle for the birthday celebrant. Friendly clientele. Thanks to our server Esteban - he made it extra special and we really had a great evening.
