Opening their first location in the spring of 1984, Helen Babalos & Thomas Makris brought us Anatoli Souvlaki. They had a dream of combining the food of Greece with great service to add some Mediterranean style to the North Vancouver restaurant selection. They opened in the sleepy neighbourhood of lower Lonsdale and lived above the restaurant to ensure the quality and service. They were able to create a North Vancouver staple, a successful thriving restaurant based on faithful patrons and a reputation that has been passed through generations.In 2011, the family-run restaurant was taken over by their sons Alexi and Iani. In 2015, the brothers, alongside their cousin Daniel Bergman, expanded on their parent’s dream by opening The Greek in Yaletown, with a focus on mezze-style dining. Now open in Gastown. My first time at a Michelin restaurant and it was SUPER! The 7 course meal was pricey but worth every bite. The ambiance was not stuffy and stuck up. Service was kind and courteous. Each course came perfectly timed. Thank you for the lovely experience.

This restaurant was recommended by a lot of people in Vancouver. The food was excellent, our server. Charlotte was extraordinary. The manager was very attentive and came to our table to make sure food. Allergies would not be an issue, and we really appreciate it that gesture. Yeah The only issue we had was with the hostess, who was not really friendly. That alone could’ve been a bad experience for us, but the rest of the staff made it so we forgot our encounter with her. Overall, (without the hostess interaction) our experience was great.

Amazing. Chef and staff were great. Very welcoming and explained all the dishes and beverages. A must try. Been to a few Michelin Star restaurants and this experience was elevated to the next level.
