Since 2006, The LakeHouse restaurant has been the jewel of Bay Shore, NY. In the summer of 2016, owners Eileen & Matthew Connors and Jay Gut moved locations to a brand new dockside treasure. With stunning views and multiple fireplaces, comfortable seating for 100+ guests, two lounge areas, deck overlooking the Great South Bay, and both an indoor tavern room and a waterfront bar, The Lakehouse is touted by many as “one of the best restaurants on Long Island.” At night, the deck is illuminated, as is the waterfront lounge area where guests can congregate for after-dinner cocktails. A little history on our namesake: The Linwood Hotel: John B. Pullis established the Linwood Hotel in about 1888. Located on the Southeast corner of South Clinton Avenue and Linden Place, the Linwood Hotel temporarily housed WW1 Navy flyers from the Bay Shore Aero Station while their barracks were being constructed. The Linwood was destroyed by fire on October 11, 1925.

    The food was fantastic. We started with sushi, which was super fresh and full of flavor. Each piece was really well made and a great start to our meal. For the main dish, we shared the Porterhouse steak for two, and it was incredible. It was cooked perfectly, tender, juicy, and just right in flavor. It was definitely the best part of the night! The atmosphere at Halston was also great. It was lively and fun, with music that made us want to dance. It really added to our dining experience. I also want to mention the staff; they were very friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome. Their service was excellent and made our time there even better. If you're looking for a place with delicious food, a fun vibe, and great service, Halston is the place to go! I can't wait to come back and try more of their amazing dishes.

    We always enjoy exploring the menu and seasonal drinks at The Linwood. Portions are perfect, flavors are perfectly balanced, all ingredients are super fresh, and the staff is attentive and very friendly. We’ve never had a bad bite of food here

    We went for an early dinner (5:30) on a Monday evening so the restaurant was not overly crowded. Our server was very pleasant and attentive and the food was great. Portions were large (enough to bring home leftovers). Had a wonderful evening.
