Food is on point with familiar Vietnamese flavors and french influences. The service was also great, with the server being knowledgeable, coat check, and check-in being on time. Every dish was amazing but the standout was definitely the oysters. These were West Coast oysters from a company run by two brothers in Washington and they were served topped with caviar. My wife and I both said they were the best oysters we've ever had. I hope these are brought back again at some point. Your energy was genuine and much appreciated! The lamb pasta put me straight to sleep soon as we arrived home.. a young lady came to check on us towards the end and held the door for us on our way out which really was the cherry on top. However, our waiter managed to make the menu more confusing rather than easier to navigate. We couldn't tell whether he was trying to "sell" us on items, provide information, or just hear himself talk! He got very far afield on the preparation of Tuna Collar and then discovered that he was describing a totally different dish. He also laid-on a thick layer of jargon, i.e "flavor profiles", etc. instead of speaking with clarity. The experience at Izakaya Den is already very good and didn't need to be embellished with BS. Fortunately, since one in our party has serious allium (onion/garlic) and gluten sensitivities, the order was placed correctly.
