Best Family Style Restaurants in Bloomingdale / Brookland

We LOVED LOVED this place! You can tell people love eating there. As soon as we walked in, it was extremely booked with people even waiting outside. We were lucky enough to find an open table for that evening. If you do consider eating here PLEASE MAKE RESERVATIONS! The plates are HUGE!! They can feed 2 people and you will still have enough to take home. Our waitress Nadia, was extremely helpful, very knowledgeable, attentive, and sweet. We were visiting D.C for the weekend, but I sure wish they had a restaurant down in FL! The 4 cheese pasta was beyond words! So much creaminess, the perfect amount of cheese, and you can tell it was made with love! And the zuppa di mussels (to die for!) such abundance of different flavors coming together! Truly loved this place, will definitely eat here again the day we return. Great job to everyone who works at the restaurant, you can truly tell everyone loves what they do. Chef, youre food is amazing!!!

First time at Oyamel. The food was excellent as was the service by Melvin. He carefully explained the menu and our many serving options. The Oyamel margarita was delicious as were the tocos and rice w mushrooms and Brussel sprout sides. The tres leches dessert was incredible! Overall, and excellent dining experience enhanced by the care of Melvin. We will return soon!

We had an amazing evening. The food was amazing. Thank you to Fernando, who made the night unforgettable. His attention to detail and warm hospitality made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. He anticipated our needs, made thoughtful recommendations, and added a personal touch that elevated the entire evening. It’s rare to find such genuine service these days, and Fernando truly made us feel at home. We can’t wait to return! Fabulous night! Our Waiter Trish was very welcoming, make us feel like home! She guide us through the menu very well and carefully for us to make the best experience. We have some wings, popcorn shrimp, with some extra dirty sauce, ( no to spicy for my taste ) but delicious. Tuna tartare and the Dirty fry chicken on point to enjoy it the southern taste. Kudos to Trish for take care of us and make our night unforgettable. Until next time! Thank you for the meal.

Amazing amazing amazing - can’t wait to go back. Usually reviews are about the food - which was truly wonderful in taste and presentation and accommodation of gluten intolerance - but service can often enhance or ruin a meal. And in this case the service only enhanced our experience so thanks for a great birthday evening, and the chance to contribute to the victims of the tragic LA wildfires.
