The Hartwood Restaurant enjoys a rich history. The originally the headquarters of the Harmar Coal Company. Purchased in 1988, the building was transformed into retail space, including antiques and a bookstore. Café tables were soon added amongst the book shelves, Over the years, The Hartwood Restaurant has evolved into a charming and unique place for meals, drinks, and events. The elegant dining rooms and a pub featuring hand-tooled woodwork and stained glass artwork.The Hartwood also features outdoor dining in a garden-like atmosphere, complete with a wood burning fireplace. Whisper’s Pub features an eclectic wine list from around the world with more than a dozen different wines by the glass, as well as seasonal cocktails, craft beers, and wine flights.     What a gem! The atmosphere was cozy, with comfortable seating, warm lighting and a quiet dining area, despite the vaulted ceiling. Our server was gracious, and provided great suggestions for wine, dinner and dessert. Our dinners were delicious - perfect portion sizes, and all the flavors blended well. We stopped at the terrace for a nightcap - the bartender was friendly and gave us fantastic cocktail suggestions. We will definitely be back.

    It was a great visit! Had a delicious pork chop and my husband had veal. I would recommend both. I was very surprised it came with a large salad too! The garlic red pepper dipping oil was very good too, I could smell The garlic! The service was great too! Well worth the visit! We will need to make another visit when it's not during Valentine's weekend!

    My wife had lobster stuffed lobster and I had filet mignon with lump crab. We both had a salad, artichokes, and cauliflower risotto, and shared a bottle of wine. Everything was perfect. How could it not? Jordan was a great server.
