- HhowardJacksonville / Northeast Florida •2 reviews4.0Dined 1 day agoMaitre D' (?) was exceptional. He greeted us promptly, informed us that our reserved table was not ready ( we were early,) and escorted us to the bar for a drink. The mixologist concocted a perfect Olde Fashioned and actually brought it to us in the sitting room in front of the fire. Within 5 minutes we were escorted to our table, again in front of a cozy fire. Music played in the background, a little loud (just a bit) and perhaps an odd mix of tunes for an elegant setting. Since we had our drink order the server took our starter and main requests. Unfortunately, we, unlike every other guest, did not receive a bread basket. We did ask for one after our starters arrived, but it never showed up. Our mains were perfectly cooked. My wife had the steak ( medium rare) and I had the short ribs. My wife had asked that the fried potatoes be changed to mashed but we were told that substitutions were not possible. That was off-putting at these prices. Dessert was chocolate mousse and coffee for the lady and I opted for the double Irish coffee. The mousse arrived without even being noticed as it was placed in the center of the table. A goblet of mousse without a supporting plate, classless. The Irish coffee was outstanding, again thanks to the mixologyist. All in all a pleasant evening. Maybe a little more attention to small details would elevate the experience to the next level.More infoJedediah HawkinsPrice: Expensive• Farm-to-table• Riverhead•4.8

- KKimvipNew York City •78 reviews5.0Dined on 16 Nov 2024Dimon Estate is a really lovely place! It has old world charm and a big bonus is that the tables are nicely spaced so you don't feel cramped as one can in many other restaurants. The menu is seasonal although favorites from the previous season were updated to reflect Autumn availability. There are many options to enjoy. We had the eggplant parmigiana (with added shrimp) and shrimp scampi. Of note, the scampi was more of a shrimp marinara over pasta but it was delicious in any event. The service was quite good. Were love bread and wish that they provided some although the portions were ample so we didn't really need it! We will definitely be going back.More infoThe Dimon EstatePrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Riverhead•4.4

- HHereshowitwasvipNew York City •16 reviews5.0Dined on 2 Jan 2022This Inn and its restaurnat spots are a lovely haven in Shelter Island. If you are in the area, its a nice place to stop. We picked it because it was the only place we could find on Open Table but we now love it and will go back again. It's a peaceful haven with lovel service. Try the ravioli, or the bacon and broccolini omelette.More infoRam's Head InnPrice: Very Expensive• American• Shelter Island•4.5
