Since I was 13 years old, I've been in the restaurant industry. I started in my grandfather’s restaurant & worked my way up to running one of the most successful restaurants in NYC - Patsy’s Italian Restaurant. My grandfather worked his way up in the restaurant industry in the 1930's and '40s and in 1942 opened his first Italian restaurant, The Sorrento. When it came time to name our new restaurant, we decided on IL Sorrento in honor of my grandfather. I know my grandparents & my mom are smiling down on us with approval. I've lived in Westchester since 1984 & have always dreamed about opening an Italian restaurant here .. now the dream is a reality. My family & I believe that having a successful restaurant is a simple formula - give people what they want: Good Food, Good Service and Good Value. The food and service were outstanding as we were fortunate to have Peter himself serving us. We started with the grilled octopus which was tender and so flavorful. Hubby had the scallops with risotto, which he loved. I had the veal ala Peter. I would highly recommend this dish with its complex flavors and tender veal. We finished with the homemade Tiramisu, the best we have ever had. Our entire experience was memorable. Would highly recommend.
