Best Organic Food Restaurants in Brookland / Brentwood

We went to Mallard's for Valentine's Day weekend. We had seen a great article about it in the Washington Post. It was our first time there and we enjoyed it! The food was great, even though they had a curated set of options for the holiday. We enjoyed what we had, especially the waygu beef entree, and we look forward to exploring the broader dinner menu which looked spectacular. The service was exceptional and our server was attentive, personable, and insightful. Well done, Mallard. We look forward to our next visit!

I'm a regular @ Benihana Bethesda. Our server Vilma is very attentive and helpful. She is always on point. Never misses a beat. She always takes care of my family and guests. She is my go to waitress. Dol was our cook for the 1st time and I have to say he was Excellent. I've never had him before and he was AWESOME! I highly recommend both Vilma & Dol.

The crab beignets were a surprise in terms of flavor and quality while the soup of the day--apple and butternut squash with a little dribble of spicy oil was very pleasing. We had the salmon with roasted brussels sprouts/mushroom/onions and the lamb bolognese--both were excellent. Service was great with good explanations of menu items, answers to our questions, and timeliness of attending to our table. It's a very casual place and the noise level was moderate though we were early diners though the place filled at dinner as we were leaving. Have already recommended to others and look forward to a return visit especially to try the chicken and waffles or the shrimp and grits.

This is a True gem! Have been many times and it's consistently great food, big (and good!) drinks, great service and nice atmosphere. Only "complaint" is that three of us ordered salads before our dinners and the two of us that got the spinach salad (myself included) were VERY surprised at how small and relatively tasteless they were! Way overpriced for what we got, that's for sure... Hoping that they were just "low on spinach and trying to stretch it through the evening". 🙂 Otherwise, another really good experience at this pretty wonderful place!!

We had a lovely dinner, but upstairs was very loud. The combo of crowd voices and loud music made it hard to have a conversation. Drinks were great and fries very tasty. Really enjoyed the Brussell sprouts! Service was good and server very friendly, but felt like she was really in the weeds and therefore unable to pay as much attention to us as she would have liked. But others stepped in to help when she was unable to, so your team was working well together.
