Overall it was a very elegant night out. Wonderful lobster bisque and crabcake. My husband’s surf and turf was beyond excellent; my sea bass didn’t quite hit the mark—death by chocolate was the saving grace. We were seated between 2 other couples on a bank— made conversation difficult—should have requested a table to have a more intimate feel. Our server couldn’t have done more to satisfy our needs. We will return, but be more conscious of seating next time.

Always a pleasure eating here. It’s such a warm, romantc and classy destination. Went there to celebrate my wife’s birthday and they graciously provided a warm romantic table by the fire. The corkage fee was pricey (they charged me $40 vs the advertised price of $25) but they graciously decanted my 15 yo cab when the cork broke. The only criticism was that the warm-water lobster with the surf-&-turf was very bland…unfortunately a casualty of warm water lobster (let’s commit to live lobster from main shall we?) Would not hesitate to go again! Love it there!

This was as close to an event as possible. From the arriving there to leaving a finished meal, the experience was memorable. When good money is spent you want an experience and this was one. We drove over 100 miles for the experience. I cannot separate all parts of the mammal and describe adequately, but can report we cannot wait to return.

We were celebrating our granddaughter’s 14th birthday last night, as Peter Shields is always a special place for us. The service by Peter was excellent, the ambiance delightful and the 4 of us agreed our dinners were perfect. Wonderful evening! And we were surprised to discover that they have acquired a liquor license and now offer cocktails and a wine list. Nice addition!

The ambiance and the staff was wonderful. My husband was happy with his meal and it did look very good. My meal however was terrible. I had the risotto with salmon. The salmon was ok I guess although it could have been cooked longer. The risotto was terrible. It seemed to have more peas than rice. The rice was too firm, which was odd because it was drowning in liquid. It was more like a soup. I didn't complain or send it back because that is something I just don't do. I will just never go back.

Our waiter was excellent so service was not the problem. I ate the Salmon which was ok. The potatoes served with it did not taste right and were on the cold side. They now have a liquor license, but you can still BYOB for a $40 opening fee per bottle (Ridiculous) I also ordered a Pistachio Martini for dessert which was not good at all. I could barely drink it and never saw the waiter again to tell him that it was awful. Upon arrival we were sent to the lounge downstairs to wait, There were many other people down there. Most of who were waiting as well. It would have been nice to have been offered a drink downstairs during the wait. We went downstairs because we thought there was a bar downstairs. We were wrong. This was my third time at this restaurant and would probably not be back. Yes, it is a beautiful place, but not worth the price for the experience we had.

We still love the place but the food wasn't as amazing as it usually is. The risotto was bland and watery. So disappointing. For the price, I'd expect at least a well executed dish.
