   The food was delicious. Prices were fair. It was Christmas Eve at 2pm. We had a reservation. Got seated at our reservation time, but waited 20 minutes for anyone to come to the table. They brought water, then took our drink orders. Took another 20 minutes to get our drinks. The food was wonderful and came in reasonable time once our food order was taken. We weren't in a hurry, so time didn't matter that much. Just seemed like everyone was really busy and didn't have enough help.

   Restaurant 1/2 full. Dirty dishes not cleared from table before delivering entrees. Nobody ask to refill coffees or water. No mention of how was the meal when leaving check . Food delivered timely. Food quality: good Service: mediocre

   Been here many times. I thought the bar b q shrimp have been better in previous visits. Service was great and everyone enjoyed their food. It was a nice spot for a casual Christmas Eve lunch

   We had a variety of appetizers for a table of five and they were all excellent notable was the remoulade and the oysters dryades, although all were spectacular. The barbecue shrimp was not as good as I remember, part of it was, the barbecue itself was not as flavorful and the cooking technique left the shrimp, soft and not the more firm texture of fresh shrimp. Hopefully it was just a bad batch because this is what they’re known for. But the stand out was really the service. Our server Louie was was a local who grew up in Metairie and exemplified everything great about local in New Orleans service. Will return again.

   Overall food was okay but not as good as before. Waiter was nice but service took 2 1/2 hours for lunch and it wasn’t crowded!. We were frustrated. The back waiter/bus boy nice but needed way more training. Decorations were festive but Bathrooms and hallways were dusty, dishes piled up in open bins, the waiter ran out of saucers?!! Etc etc. Either short handed or poor management or both. The manager on duty wasn’t helping his staff by pitching in and doing “real” work. We waited so long to pay our bill we finally had to go and get the manager to charge our credit cards. This old grande dame restaurant needs ALOT of TLC.

    Very good N.O. “Hole in wall” restaurant. Have been several times in the past few years when we visit the big easy. BBQ shrimp poboy and stuffed shrimp were delicious. The house special BBQ shrimp were good but did not peel easy as usual. They were difficult to peel.
