    We go every year to Old Ebbitt around the holidays as a tradition with our group of friends. We had a wonderful time again. The only issue was that my husband and a few others were extremely warm in the main dining area. It was uncomfortable at times and if there is a way to turn down the heat on the warmer winter days, that would be appreciated. There are just so many bodies in the dining area which creates a great ambience but don’t want to feel uncomfortable with the extra heat in the room as well. Thanks!

    We had a delightful dinner at the Old Ebbitt this evening. Our waiter was fabulous and the food very good. Unfortunately the two young women 5’ away from us were so loud we could follow their conversation easier than our own!

    This was my most disappointing visit ever to this historic restaurant. I had a reservation for 5, we were seated outside in an atrium area. I do not recommend this area as it’s not actually in the restaurant, if you are going for ambiance, this is not it. We did not receive our drinks for 50 minutes. Food was decent as always but service was very poor.

    Huge place. Energetic! Fun ! Great good. Attentive service. (One odd thing , but otherwise fun and great: I ordered White Anchovies for an appetizer from the Tin menu. They brought me Sardines in spicy olive oil in a Tin. I explained that I ordered anchovies, but they insisted that the sardines in front of me were actually anchovies. Dudes: I eat white anchovies twice a week, I know the difference. Weird try at Gaslighting me. No apology. No offer to take them back. My dining companion ate them…even though they are allergic to anchovies. Ha!😀)

    Such a classic Washington institution! Very busy place yet we were seated within a few minutes of our 7pm reservation. Terrific server. Marvelous martini and oysters. Good high quality pub food. Expect noisy, or energetic as OT prefers. Enjoy!

    A regular for me in DC. Great food, great ambience just next to the White House. Additional perks are late night dining options and an undeniable charm and sense of history. Food is exceptional whether you choose from raw bar, steaks or you have my favorite the Parpadelle Stroganoff. I simply love it.

    Oysters Rockefeller and Pumpkin cheesecake were amazing! Place was packed for the holidays, but reservation was on time and service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend!!

    We ate breakfast here twice on our trip. First time was excellent. Today we were seated in the bar area which had loud music and ambience not as good as main restaurant. Service a little lacking today as well.
