An Ofrenda, in Spanish, is an offering, a gift. At their cozy West Village space, owner Jorge Guzman and chef Ivan Octaviano offer their unique interpretation of classic Mexican cuisine with an innovative cocktail menu of tequila-based drinks. Named by NYLuxury as “one of the top ten restaurants in New York serving Latin food” and as “Top Tequila Bar in the US” by the editors of USA Today, this intimate and stylish cocina offers its guests a blend of passions. The best drinks, food and most incredible staff! Ofrenda is a true gem of a place. It feels like family when we come here each and every time. Staff is polite, friendly, accommodating and just overall wonderful!

Food was delicious. Service was spotty but friendly. When we did get service they were kind and made good recommendations. Ambiance was cool, but not frills - it felt authentic. The food was the start - favorful, nice portions and the Guac was a great first impression that continued through the end. Drinks were lovely too, including their signature mezcalita - strong and yummy! I will definitely go back when in NYC, but with a reservation and a restaurant that isn’t full service should be a little better… Great spot to add to your list for authentic Mexican!

Ofrenda has one of the most delicious happy hours in the West Village....outstanding fish tacos, queso fundido (definitely take the add-on chorizo or mushrooms option), quesadillas and a set of margarita options unmatched by any other restaurants' happy hour. On our last visit, the ambient noise level was a bit too much and it wasn't that crowded. You can't control noisy people or groups of celebrating college students, we understand that fully; but maybe, turn the music down or off since it adds to the cacophony. Just a thought.
