   My favourite seafood restaurant in Mid Town. I enjoyed the scallop crudo that was simply fantastic ! Followed up with a swordfish dish that I was not confident about that proved to be outstanding (particularly the garlic toast). The warmth of the staff, the quality of the for and the luxe ambience are all a pretty amazing combination. It’s so uplifting to always enjoy a wonderful dining experience at Oceana - every time - since 2005 !

   We enjoyed a pre-theater dinner to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and it was absolutely perfect! We indulged in the Octopus, Grilled Branzino, Truffle Beef Cheek Bucatini, and Lobster Scampi—each dish was outstanding. Matt, our sommelier, was exceptional—knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely passionate. His recommendation of the Langelois Ried 2019 Riesling was spot on. A truly phenomenal dining experience—thank you for making my mom feel so special. Bravo!

   This was my second time there in as many months. First time I enjoyed the delicious bar menu in that lovely setting before heading to the theater, and this time hosted a birthday dinner in the main dining room. Service was excellent in both settings, as were the completely different menus. The dining room provided a fine dining experience with every course, all delicious and beautifully presented, with attentive and highly-trained service. And with the tables nicely spaced in the elegant dining room, so that conversation was easy. With so many appealing menu options, I will be returning soon.

   Loved Oceana and will definitely return, easily the best restaurant near(ish) the theater district. I booked for Valentine's Day based on the menu online, when they called me to confirm a few days before they made a point of letting me know there was a four-course prix fixe for V-Day. Considerate! Although I must say: there were 5-6 choices for each of the courses so it was hardly a skimpy menu. My wife got the wine pairing with her meal and the sommelier was really informative, explaining not just the wine but why he paired it (we love that kind of stuff). Not all the dishes were homeruns, but all were above average. My appetizer of scallop crudo topped with caviar was one of the homeruns, I'd return for that dish; and for the "smores budino" dessert (which was served in big bowl, I expected it in a glass) -- it was a huge portion, very much shareable. My wife's beet salad was very good. The chef seems to really prioritize contrasting textures in all the dishes, which I love. My cocktail was also good (a Penicillin but with tequila instead of whiskey), tasty, not too sweet -- and not too strong. Space is great, high ceilings, not jammed in next to everyone (but close enough that we did eavesdrop on some hilarious conversations). Wait staff was there when you wanted them, absent when you wanted space. Excellent all around.

   We visited on Valentine’s Day and had their Prix fixe menu. The food was excellent. We also had the wine pairing with each wine paired with the specific dish each of us ordered. The sommelier explained how he chosen wines and why they went well with the food. I would highly recommend this restaurant for that special meal with your honey.

    Oceana was highly recommended by friends who had great experiences in the past. That is why we were completely disappointed. It was a pre-fixe menu so it was a limited menu. However the disappointment came from the execution of each dish. First dish was Chilled Oysters with a cucumber foam. The foam was so overwhelming all you could taste was cucumber. Second course was a Lump Crab Cake with a celery root remoulade. The remoulade tasted like plain mayonnaise. Third course was Seared Scallops. This was the worst part of the meal. The scallops were so undercooked it was like warmed up crudo. So bad, it was inedible. We were headed to a show so there was no time to ask for a make good. The desert was adequate. Our server was good, the wine list was very good and we enjoyed the ambiance. I'm sure we caught them on a bad night but unfortunately I don't see myself ever going back.
