   Had a wonderful dinner with friends. Sat on the patio, which even with the cooler weather was perfect with the heaters. Our server Hannah was wonderful, patient and provided wonderful recommendations. Kitchen was very accommodating regarding a few dietary issues - much appreciated! Beautiful ambiance, lovely view. Food was outstanding -- salmon, scallops, sushi....all beautifully prepared and tasty. Great wine and cocktail list. We'll be back!

   I can’t remember when I have had a worse meal at prices normally reserved for a top end restaurant. Service and ambiance were the only positive elements…the food was something between high school cafeteria and airline food. I’m not kidding. Tuna entree was minuscule, two asparagus spears and all swamped with cold au pouivre sauce. Salmon entree was accompanied by a hard as a rock fried plantain. Deserts were far less than ordinary. Even for a hotel restaurant, this was especially terrible. The don’t eat where you stay maxim was created with this place in mind. To their credit, management made very modest amends by comping a dessert. But it won’t make their cuisine any better, I’m afraid.

   Sushi was nice, but pieces were large. Flat bread was disappointing as little browsing and not special. Brussel sprouts were good.

   Food of very good quality. Pleasant surprise for a hotel dining room. Service eager and professional. We also dined at breakfast and it was fabulous: food and service. Nice menu.

   Overall, a good experience -- a lovely patio facing Mission Bay and great service. However, they were out of two of their signature menu items, the scallops and the sea bass. This was part of our reason for selecting the restaurant which specializes in seafood and was disappointing.

   Referred to restaurant because The Grill at the Lodge at Torrey Pine had golf tournament. I will let them know not to do that again!! 3 orders: Large thick toasted bread. Meager slice of dry chicken; not so fresh lettuce—my companions lettuce had black spots; single slice of tomato. Nice French fries but we did not eat them. 1 lettuce with chicken; guest thought it was just ok. We were there to enjoy being together; it wasn’t about the food which was disappointing, especially given the owner’s pedigree. Perhaps an off day
