In the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the Nipa Thai restaurant has been named after the original Nipa Restaurant in the Landmark Hotel in Bangkok. Lots of teak panelling, traditional Thai furnishings and artefacts lend an authentic air. All the staff dressed in traditional Thai costume are from Thailand - even the lady chefs. This authentic Thai restaurant is one of the first 15 recipients of the 'Thai Select' award - this award has been described as being the first ever Michelin-style award for Thai restaurants proven to be performing to the highest standards of quality and cuisine, and is awarded by the Thai Government. We think this award sums up Nipa Thai rather nicely. What's cooking? Kai Haw Bai Toey - deep fried marinated chicken in pandanus leaves, Kaeng Kiew Warn Kai - chicken in green curry soup, also recommended the Nipa platter - a selection of the chef's special Thai starters.

    Fabulous restaurant . After having recently visited Thailand, coming to dine at the Nipa Thai transported us back to the Thai experience . It was lovely .

    How can I find superlatives enough to describe Nipa Thai? But then I am conflicted. I have travelled in Thailand a lot over the years and have fallen in love with its food and its people. Nipa Thai is a shining beacon for both. The food is mouthwatering (Don't miss the soft-shell crab!) and the staff are a wonderful advertisement for their country. Led by the two best Maitre d'Hotels in London they are attentive, gracious, efficient and all have that wonderful warm welcoming smile that is unique to Thai people. In short if you come to London and don't dine at Nipa Thai, you have seriously missed out!

    Nipa Thai is consistently outstanding. The welcome, the ambience, the food …. It’s all 5* ++++ I’ve been coming to Nipa for many years now and the food is of an outstanding quality, great specials and always with attentive service. You are always made to feel welcome and the staff go above and beyond to make the experience very special. Highly recommend you pay a visit
