Block Island Restaurants

The Barn is always cozy, friendly and has great service. Sadly, the food has taken a bit of a slip - eliminating some faves from the menu - brussel sprouts, bolognese sauce - which is a shame. New additions are adequate but uneven. Scallops with a way too sweet puree, mediocre salmon, bland haddock. Hoping they'll work out the kinks!

We went for Valentine’s Day with another couple. We were all thrilled with the Brie special appetizer with the pears!! Please add this to the regular menu as it was outstanding. 2 of us had the lobster ravioli special and were blown away with how delicious it was. We both commented that they were far and away the best lobster raviolis we had ever had. The sauce was especially delicious and so different. My husband tried the steak special and loved that as well. The accompaniment vegetable which was a layered ‘something’ which he could not identify was apparently delicious. The last of us had the sole Milanese and this was also loved. As usual the staff was excellent as were the views of the water. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed evening out. We were lucky enough to book our reservation for the Tuesday candlelight night experience. The ambience was really quite relaxing and beautiful. The illumination of all the candles against the windows overlooking the ocean was just divine. There were many wonderful choices for entrees on the menu, however, my husband and I each had the evening's dinner specials which were excellent. I had the pasta dinner special (linguine with lobster, shrimp and scallops in a light ginger cream sauce) and my husband had the short rib dinner with mashed potatoes and haricot verts (french green beans). The server was pleasant, friendly and informative. We will definitely return again.

Wonderful dinner at Winfield's. Highly recommend the cod, and the salmon entrees, as well as the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake, and the berry cobbler with homemade sage ice cream. Julie, our server, was perfect. Great conversational dialog. Only 'negative', and was minor, the Tuna Tartare appetizer was somewhat bland, and the wonton triangle 'chips' were slightly overcooked. Could have used a bit more spice, and 1 or 2 more chips. Still, Winfield's is one of our favorites on Block Island.

Service was amazing, the team made our anniversary experience special. Food was phenomenal
