Aldeburgh Restaurants

It’s been a while since we’ve had an Assembly House afternoon tea and had forgotten quite how good they are compared to others available. We were warmly greeted at restaurant reception and quickly shown to our table. After a suitable time gap our drinks request was taken by a friendly and efficient staff member, our pots of tea soon arriving. Our multi tiered tea stand then arrived with an explanation of all the delights thereon, with a request to just ask when we were ready for our scones and/or wanted our second pot of tea. Every tier was a delight as were the scones. Several other tables opted for the ‘doggie box’ but I’m afraid we scoffed the lot. We have a Norfolk Passport card so we’re entitled to a 10% discount. A lovely ‘afternoon out’, delightful food in a charming setting with very pleasant staff. Thank you.

It was our first meal back at Sole Bay Fish after the fire . We cannot recommend it highly enough, the standard is as outstanding as ever . The restaurant is beautifully renovated , friendly , helpful staff and fresh fish to die for ! A wonderful eating experience , thank you .

The best restaurant in Aldeburgh, the highest quality of food with brilliant service, the menu changes with the seasons so you always have something different to try, this also applies to the cocktail menu so you get to try and amazing drink with some strange ingredients that are only in season for a small amount of time.

We heartily enjoyed lunch today, choosing from an imaginative and original menu, with a lovely enticing choice of dishes. The food was well presented, homemade, fresh and very tasty. It was simultaneously both ‘rustic’ - in the earthy sense of strong flavours, such as the heavenly black treacle rye bread- and sophisticated. We were well attended to throughout. It was a real treat, and the Inn itself is a fascinating ancient building. We will return. Thank you to the lovely young lady and the Landlord who served us so well today.
