We split the filet, which was outstanding, and got sides of Brussels sprouts (fabulously prepared), and wonderful mashed potatoes. Discover Franklin
Located within the lush greenery of the Nantahala National Forest, Franklin is home to a wide assortment of creative and delicious dining options. Enjoy the chefs' creations at independent local fine dining locations, where you might be tempted by fresh black mussels steamed in white wine. For a land-based option, parsnip puree elevates farm-to-table, bone-in pork chops. If you feel like Mexican, Italian or Chinese cuisine, you’re in luck; it’s all here. For traditional Appalachian flavor, try cedar plank salmon topped with sea salt and wildflower honey. Franklin diners can also enjoy pimiento cheese and the beloved barbecue sauce, a peppery mixture of ketchup and vinegar. Other Southern favorites, like fried catfish, collard greens and Cajun-style shrimp and grits, are eternal foods for the soul.
