- CClaireLondon •3 reviews5.0Dined on 12 Nov 2024We loved our time here. The cocktail menu is new and exciting and the staff extremely knowledgeable. Trust their recommendations, our favourite drinks were those recommended. The flavours are complex and surprising and extremely tasty. The food was excellent and the ambience perfect. It was civilised, comfortable and the music at just the right volume for a good conversation. We’ll be back next time we’re in Amsterdam.More infoPrins & AapPrice: Expensive• Bistro• Oosterdokseiland•4.6

Discover Watergraafsmeer
Though it was was once much more rural, the rustic quality has mostly disappeared. There are still some traces of the past, such as when there were many buitenplaatsen—or summer residences for Amsterdam’s wealthy or merchant class—in the 17th and 18th centuries. Today, one “cottage” remains, Frankendael, which is a throwback to a bygone era. Still, the sense of serenity outside of the city center remains. Some noteworthy spots include sophisticated takes on European classics like having steak tartare on a scenic terrace, or a daily fixed menu of organic Mediterranean dishes served within a garden setting. Have a vacation, while never actually having to leave the city.
