Tar Barrel Brewery & Distillery

Tar Barrel is a well known 'local's corner' on the Mornington Peninsula and named by road builders storing tar barrels during road building through the area.
TAR BARREL Brewery & Distillery has seen Matt Bebe and Andrew Gow reunite to continue producing award winning craft beers at 72 Watt Road Mornington. And now with the introduction of a whiskey and gin distillery it has widened their ability to offer more crafted taste experiences.
The venue will also maintain their belief in 'The Spirit of Local' - a commitment to supporting and sourcing from the Mornington Peninsula community.
Core and specialty beers, produced onsite, are available on tap to enjoy alongside their smoked BBQ and famous wood-fired pizzas. You can also try their crafted spirits - Australian Whiskey, Gin & Vodka, as well as local wines.

Requested the upper levels but when hot there was told there is a wedding so not able to get our request. Would have been nice to have been told that seeing how I spoke with the restaurant on the day to changed the time. The food was amazing and plentiful, but again they had run out of prawns so was disappointed All in all good very good. Was very busy but did not have to wait long for the meals

Still the best of all the DOC locations. Comfortable seating, today was warm enough in the Spring weather to sit outside which is the best. Welcoming of big family groups who challenged my elderly mum’s hearing. But she still ate her way through her favourite pizza AND the best tiramisu! Extra positive were the take-home meals of ravioli, rigatoni and ravioli. Yummmmm

Has been a consistently great experience. Wonderful food and friendly service. Menu has a large vegetarian selection of dishes and all our dietary requirements were catered for.
