The Merchantman Fresh Seafood & Oyster Bar

The Merchantman Pub in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island is located on the corner of Queen and Water Street right near the waterfront. This restaurant is newly renovated and offers a dazzling display of great menu items, along with a welcoming and friendly team of staff. The Merchantman Pub is open for both lunch and dinner and offers a casual and fun environment no matter when you decide to dine. Seafood lovers will be very happy with the menu here, with options such as steamed island mussels, seafood cakes and seafood chowder for appetizers. For an entrée at The Merchantman Pub, enjoy a lobster dinner with melted butter and lemon or try the seared scallops with maple slaw, balsamic glaze and local alfalfa sprouts.

Sims Steakhouse & Oyster Bar

Donald McIsaac erected this beautiful three storey brick building in 1862-1864 on Sims Corner, so called because the property had been in the possession of Thomas and Charlotte Alchorn Sims from 1806.
The most colourful owner and occupant of the building was Mr. P.P. Gillis, who ran the “Red Pharmacy” between 1895 and 1910.
A drug-store in the front half of the building and a reputed conviviality shop in the rear, proved very popular with local businessmen while prohibition was in effect. This location has also been a large family home, apartments and a barber shop.
In the fall of 2005 local restaurateur Murphy's purchased the building and began the process of renovating to create what you are experiencing today.

We were sat at a bar height table but the stools were hurting my wife’s legs so we asked to switch tables mid meal and they happily accommodated us on a busy valentines weekend supper. The food was also great.

Love the overall experience at Merchant Man.. Our favorite P.E.I. restaurant.. The music is typically kept at a volume that we can have comfortable conversation. We don’t care for restaurants with loud music 🎶 for our dinner dates. As long as our seats are away from the drafty doors we are happy!

although it was quite expensive and my bill came to almost 200$ the service was outstanding it was the best service i have ever had while dinning out. the food was wonderful from just the bread to the to the appetizers and the mains and desserts it was all around just delicious. The best dinning experience i have ever had.
