The Japanese film Tampopo was marketed as the world’s first “ramen western”. It’s the story of two truck drivers, Goro & Gun, who use their culinary expertise to change the fate of a struggling noodle shop. Those two characters' passion for noodle-making lives on at Calgary’s 150-seat noodle bar — led by executive chef Ryusuke Araki. Located inside Stephen Avenue Place, upstairs on the Plus 15 level, the restaurant melds modern art graphics with distinctive hardwood and right angles of Japanese decor. Last Best Brewing & Distilling opened its doors in May 2015. The name Last Best draws from Calgary’s eclectic history. At the end of the 1800s, the Canadian government launched a campaign called ‘The Last Best West’; it’s purpose was to populate the western prairies and grow agriculture in Canada.
The administration believed that this area was the Last Best chance in the modern world for homesteaders to lay roots and shape their futures. The accomplishments resulting from the Last Best initiative have paved the way for the budding craft beer and distilling industries here in Alberta.

    This was our second visit to Major Tom! We absolutely love it. The food is amazing! The service is great! And the value for your dollar is amazing. We will be regular customers. The views are outstanding. The food came out very quickly, and very well presented. I absolutely love the shrimp and crab rolls and the potato donuts. Today we tried the sweet potato salad and the roasted beet salad and they were amazing!

    This wasn't our first visit to Barbarella's and it won't be the last. I love this restaurant! I love the feeling of being here, every dish we have tried is delicious and the service is always top notch. Our waiter Christian took such great care of us and provided us the most excellent experience. If you haven't already been here please don't wait too long, it will be a night out you won't forget.

    We really enjoyed our time at Pigeonhole Downtown. The staff were all so helpful and seemed happy to be there tbh. The food was all done nicely, while it’s not reinventing the eating experience, everything was very tasty. We were there for happy hour, which was an absolute deal! Will be back for sure and to try the mains.
