The mill began its life as the Southern Bleachery and Piedmont Print Works during the height of the Greenville area’s reign as the Textile Capital of the World. Closing as a mill in 1965, the building found a variety of partial uses until revitalization efforts began in the mid 2000s. Almost 50 years ago, the Lieu family migrated from Asia to the United States. Since then, they have owned and operated full-service restaurants in cities across the country, including Seattle, Atlanta, Athens, and Greenville.So, where do the great flavors and tried-and-true recipes come from? The patriarch of the Lieu family handed down his amazing recipes to his eldest sons, David and Peter. Just as good brothers do, they worked together with their father to ensure success for their restaurants. Lieu Family owned and operated “Lieu’s Chinese Bistro” for twelve years on Woodruff Road, came to an end in 2014 when the family sold the business to a Korean family who has now sold the restaurant to another family. We still license the use of the name to the Woodruff Road operators, but you can only get the true Lieu’s Chinese experience and recipes at our latest concept “Lieu’s Asian Bistro” on Beacon Drive off Pelham Road which is a partnership with our friend David McCraw.

    Vs Hell’s Kitchen. California dreaming ribs are not quite as good as ramseys beef wellington, but the salad was better. Tie breaker goes to the croissant. California dreaming wins. To top it off Gordon gave us complimentary champagne, but Craft gave us complimentary cheesecake. California Dreaming has taken my #1 spot.

    Came here last week for an impromptu business meeting dinner and had an amazing meal. Immediately made a reservation for my wife and I to come back. Spot on!!! Legit one of the best carpaccio we have ever had. Bone in ribeye was insane good. Had the lobster tail and crab cake as well. Sooooo good. Super shout out to Anthony our server. Niagara Falls represent ! What a class act. Highly recommend him. Good demeanor and personality. Very attentive. Will for sure be back.

    Tried "Tavola Italian" tonight. I enjoyed it. The food was excellent, started with the Meatball appetizer. Soft and flavorful with a little heat mixed in. I could eat a whole dish of these and be happy but let's not stop there. Our entree was the Chicken Parmesan which was beautifully prepared and the Salsa Verde was a pleasant surprise. The Escarole and the Penne Pomodoro also very tasty. My only suggestion would be some fresh bread with some evoo and some Parmigiano would have been great. The Focacca is a bit too much other than that everything was excellent, food, service and ambience. Definitely will return.
