Best restaurants near me in Penn Valley, CA

Friar Tuck's is a wonderful local restaurant for us, and the first place we think of when we want to go out for an occasion. They decor is varied enough that it feels like there are separate "areas" within the restaurant, and the bar conveniently does not intrude in any way. They've had live music each time we've been there, and the food is always delicious. You won't go hungry!

The Terrace is inside the Springhill Hotel. It’s really nice but small. We had a hard time finding comfortable seats. We went on Valentine’s Day. They were real busy and had a limited crew. Besides all of that it was a pleasant experience. The staff was really nice and tried very hard to take care of their customers. We had the New York Steak and it was perfect. We would definitely go again on a non holiday and less busy to see if the service is better. Again we were really well taken care of but if you’re going to a movie or somewhere else, it could cause a problem.

Good food. Would recommend, was very busy for Valentine’s Day never got my drink I asked for.

We eat at the Tin Lantern regularly and last night was our usual excellent experience. we were seated promptly, the staff was attentive, and the food was excellent. We had 4 different entrees and 2 appetizers. We started with the crab cakes and the calamari. Both were tasty. The calamari had some extras that made it special. We had the lasagna with an order of garlic bread, the chicken marsala, the Mahi Mahi and, the Pork Katsu. All were so good, but sadly we did not have room for dessert.

Had a fabulous pre-Valentine's Day dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the Tomato Gorgonzola Soup, Beef Shortribs, Seafood Risotto, and Lemon Cake. The service was stellar, as well. And they even had wine from one of my favorite local wineries, Dono dal Cielo. Definitely going back soon!
