Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca.     Enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast, meeting with friends. The Black Bull is also ideally located to go for a nice walk to work up an appetite, but due to the snow today we decided to just eat on this occasion! The cheesecake was also amazing! Will definitely return to sample the wider menu!

    A lovely meal in a beautiful gastropub. Took the dog, family of 5, kids meal was loved by both kids, we ordered chateaubriand but waitress said cook wasn’t happy with it so after a slight delay they brought out a porterhouse half price along with some free starters. Which were unreal. Such a lovely gesture clearly service of the highest order, everyone happy with the meal, steak seasoned to perfection. Can’t wait to return. Thank you Hawthorn staff.

    We went for New Years Day lunch, and to celebrate my wife's birthday. The whole experience was truly fantastic. We had waited an age to visit, but it was worth the wait. We were well looked after by Andrew and the staff. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the setting was perfect. All in all, it was a brilliant celebration.

    This was a seven course set Christmas Eve menu, each course was served in a timely manner, and every one was exceptional. Each course had been thoughtfully crafted by the head chef who obviously knows his stuff, along side his hardworking staff, who were all very pleasant and attentive The whole place is professionally run to a high standard and provides an excellent dining experience. We look forward to a return visit in the near future, in the meantime Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2025
