We have always endeavored to obtain seasonal and local ingredients and we use many locally produced greens, herbs, and vegetables, some of which come from our own culinary garden. If you really, really love eating, eat here. Hayward's environment & staff= welcoming, unpretentious, comfortable, roomy, attentive, skilled, friendly. Hayward's food= creative, clever, adventurous, whimsical, surprising, healthful, scrumptious. We wanted to lick our plates clean.

Wow! First the hostess graciously accommodated our arrival glitch. Then CJ and the food prep crew did a wonderful job preparing and serving our meal. Everything was truly world-class from the oil and aged vinegar served with the focaccia, to the home-made ginger beer, to the fresh vegetables and mozzarella in the Caprese salad, and the AMAZING short ribs and pasta. Wonderful food meets warm, capable service, it’s the perfect pairing! Thank you!
