Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton—the women behind Canal House Station—are cooks, writers, and artists. In 2007 they founded Canal House, which includes a publishing venture and a culinary, photography, and design studio. Their cookbook "Canal House Cooks Every Day" received a James Beard Award in 2012. In 2019, Christopher and Melissa opened Canal House Station, a hidden gem tucked into an elegantly restored 1870s train station on the banks of the Delaware River in Milford, NJ. Their idiosyncratic, modern American cuisine is inspired by local ingredients that are ripe and in season in Hunterdon and Bucks County.     We always enjoy dining at The Clinton House. Last night I felt my lobster BLT was a bit tough and the brioche bun was a little too toasted. The house chips were OK but dry. My husband had the stuffed chicken and wild rice with carrots. I just won't order that dish again. The service was good and ambiance was lovely. The carrot cake for dessert was yummy.

    The Inn was an incredible find and has become a regular "go to". Not only is it great for a solo dinner but also for family gatherings. Great service and quality meals!

    The Cree Wine Bar is an informal understated culinary experience. From the personal greeting up front to non intrusive wait staff to the bespoke selection of wines paired with appetizers and entrees and never any pressure to upsell. The wine selection is among the best I have seen in the state. It’s truly a wonderful place to meet with friends for an afternoon who can always find something on the menu they like. Keep it up !

    Food was top notch, as always. There were 11 of us, everyone had something different and not one person complained. The waitstaff was extremely attentive, no one wanted for anything. Before we could ask for anything one of the waitstaff was already walking up to the table with it. The Spain Inn 2 is a hidden roadside Hunterdon county gem!!
