We had a horrible experience at Lucca. Our server was impatient and was rushing us along the entire time. She obviously wanted to flip the table but she barely gave us time to read the menu (which she indicated was new and could offer no suggestions) and eat our food. She did not know the wine list and was rude when asked questions about the cocktails and mocktails. We ordered several appetizers and as soon as they were delivered, our food also came out. The meatball appetizer had little taste and all 3 meatballs were cold in the middle. The Caesar salad came with the anchovies on it though we ordered them on the side. The waitress was rude and insisted on giving us the food though the appetizers were just delivered and there was little room on the table. The shrimp scampi was salty and the sauce was awful. It had a terrible vinegar taste - like cheap wine. The mushroom ravioli was overcooked. The filet was perfect but the risotto cold. The server never checked back and when she saw 3 out of 4 plates full did not even ask if something was wrong. This seemed especially strange when we told her we were not interested in taking anything home. When we tried to order dessert and coffee, she stood there while we viewed the menu though one of our guests was in the restroom. She seemed exasperated when we asked for a few minutes and was impatient when she came back. The whole experience was terrible and I would advise people to pick another spot to dine. We have been multiple times and the last 2 have been awful. We certainly will never go back.

The food was meh, I wouldn’t really call it Italian. The really really good meatballs were incredibly dense and didn’t seem like they were well mixes. The short rib gnocchi were ok (the short rib was surprisingly dry and tough), the filet and pork milanese also not great. Overall I wouldn’t go back.

Really great experience. The waitstaff was just the right level of attentive. Food was excellent (lots of great choices) and the atmosphere very cosy and romantic. We ate early (5:30) before a show so it was relatively quiet. Would definitely recommend!
