Cielos at Lodge on the Desert offers one of the best dining options in Southern Arizona. Dine on contemporary seasonal cuisine that pays tribute to Southwest ingredients. Complemented by classic craft cocktails featuring local spirits and a delectable wine list, Cielos is the perfect place for a romantic night out or a casual happy hour with friends.
The intimate space is framed with floor-to-ceiling windows and overlooks a spacious secluded Saltillo-tiled outdoor private patio featuring bistro string lighting, a four-sided, tiled fireplace for optimal year-round al fresco dining.                                     We were excited for our anniversary dinner here since we have been wanting to try this place out and have heard good things. We made a reservation stating that it was for an anniversary. Nobody from the restaurant acknowledged this, not even once during our time there. We ordered 2 appetizers and shared an entree. All of them were bland and lacked salt and flavor. Though he was nice, we were not impressed with our waitress. Needless to say we were disappointed with the dinner that was supposed to be for our special occasion. The thing we loved about the place was the outside seating. It was quiet and the ambiance was very good with the lights and fireplace going.

                                    The place is really pleasant and the food was ok. However, the food took about 50 minutes to arrive and the portions were rather small. One of the orders was incorrect, but the chef said they ran out of that ingredient so they couldn’t re-do it. They took the item off the bill, but I wish they told us before cooking it so we had the chance to order something different. Again, the waiting time was ridiculous when the place was almost empty. We won’t go back.

                                    It is truly a quiet dining experience. The food I ordered was delicious, but could have benefitted from less cheese and cream. It overpowered the pasta and was unbalanced. Some soft music would have been nice.

                                    A good meal with excellent service by Miyoung. We both had the Roasted Green Chile Tamales and the Lemon bar dessert accompanied with a glass of Merlot and Sangiovese. All in all, a very pleasant meal.

                                    Tucked away in the Lodge on the Desert Hotel is Cielo their restaurant. It's been there forever and so unassuming that most people don't know about it but they should. It's quiet low and low key with beautifully presented fine dining. My bacon wrapped scallops over asparagus puree was creative and delicious as was my friend's short ribs with Chilli sauce.
