About the restaurant
With a menu dominated by the flavours of Thailand, Executive Chef Adam Woodfield (ex-Chin Chin) and his team present dishes full of the richness of their origins such as Twice Cooked Pork Belly, Kao Soi Chicken Curry, Two Rice Fried Rice and Coconut Braised Beef.

Salted Egg is a cosy yet lively space in the New York end of the Melbourne CBD, perfect for date nights, celebrations of all types or even just a place to hide away with some soul-nourishing food. We always recommend a visit to our sister 27 stories above too, The Q Rooftop Bar for pre (and after) dinner cocktails...

About the restaurant
Paying tribute to its lively past, Alexander Bar is named after the original owner of the hotel first built on the site in the 1880s. This was reincarnated in 1926 as The Hotel Alexander. Alexander Bar is now the elegant ground floor attraction at The Savoy Hotel Little Collins, infused with a rich history. Famous guests could once be found here during the jazz era and beyond, sipping on cocktails while listening to the easy sounds of crooners sharing the scene.

The space has recently been refurbished in a contemporary Art Deco design, honouring its origins. The bar, encased in marble, showcases bold geometric patterned carpets, linear angled pillars, full-length mirrors, and classic tray ceilings, complemented by soft lighting.

A lovely place to have dinner, and convenient if staying at the Savoy. Fabulous attentive service both in the bar and at dinner.

A quiet oasis in the middle of the CBD. A group lunch was enjoyable in a relaxing and comfortable space. The food was fresh and well cooked, service efficient and deserves my 4 stars.

About the restaurant
Mr Tompkins is a classic European-style restaurant with a modern twist using Native Australian Bushfoods. Our head chef Eric Kwek, previously from CODA, has carefully curated the menu with quality local produce.

Our paperbark Roasted Murray cod is our signature dish.
Paperbark is traditionally used by indigenous cultures as bedding and to wrap proteins in before tossing them into the fire and we have adopted this method to cook our Murray Cod. To impart the very unique smoky flavor we light the bark on fire to release the aromatic smell in the smoke.

Mr Tompkins is located at 318 Flinders Street Melbourne, opposite the iconic Flinders Street Station in the Melbourne CBD and a short stroll to famous landmarks like Federation Square, MCG, and the Rod Laver Arena.

Our intimate and moody underground space enables our guests to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, but still watch the comings and goings on Flinders Street above through our NYC-style windows.
