The food is so good here. Yes, the service is excellent, and the decor/ambience is lovely. But ot my, such tasty food. Tonight we had some kind of mushroom truffle ravioli with amazing parsnip crisps, it was to die for.

Exceeded our expectations! We started our meal with cocktails (Mystical Portal) and (Hot Lovers). The cocktails were on point and the appetizer was tasty and plenty for both of us. I had the Rainbow Trout and the gnocchi and my wife opted for the steak frites. I don’t recall having a better trout or gnocchi. Absolutely exquisite! The steak was perfect. This restaurant was excellent and not surprised that it’s a Bib Gourmand.
The menu and service are both outstanding. Always a great time at Berkeley.

Dinner at Canoe was a treat for all our senses. The view of the city and the careful arrangement of food on the plate were visually appealing. The taste of the food was both surprising and pleasant. The sound level was low enough to have an intimate conversation across the table. The food smelled great. It all makes for an excellent evening!

The staff were so attentive, had excellent recommendations, and even wrote down a list of other great restos in the city to check out while I’m here. The food was fantastic! My favorite was definitely the scallops although everything was absolutely delicious and really interesting and inspired! Was very glad I checked it out; they even did half portions for me bc I was dining solo. Truly epitome of hospitality! Highly recommend!

When you receive a menu that just says you have a choice of 3,5, or 7 courses you may be a little apprehensive about the food you will be eating. Every course was a delightful surprise. From the opening trout course with dried nori and 2 side sauces to dessert with vanilla mushroom ice cream! My favorite course was a beet salad with home made ricotta and macerated prunes. This restaurant is not for a picky eater (considering there are no choices as far as food is concerned) I recommend this restaurant highly for those people who love an interesting and delicious meal.

It was nice place. Would consider going back. Some of the food came out cold which sucked as we had to wait extra long for the venison. Was told 20-30 minutes but came out 45-50 min later and cold

Sooooo delicious! My husband and I ate tapas here - grilled calamari, king oyster mushrooms, a special of the day (tripe dish), avocado salad and crab croquettes. For dessert we get the cheesecake special of the day (made with Manchego cheese) and fried milk. Drinks were sangria and Aperol spritz. Service was also phenomenal - they anticipate your needs, are helpful without being intrusive, and the chef even came out to greet us and ask how the food is. We cannot wait to eat here agin and try every dish on the menu!

Server was almost impeccable. Perfect wine pairings with our food, almost perfect timing between courses and seemed very knowledgeable about both the food and wine menu. My only critique, and I will admit it’s far from a deal breaker, is that old fashion me still expects my wife’s plate to be cleared only once we have both finished. This seems to be a lost nuance and perhaps an expectation I need to adjust. All in all this place offered a very enjoyable dining experience.

First time dining and server explained to us it was a order and share style kinda place. We sat up at the kitchen counter and could see all the food coming out and not one single dish look unappealing. The chicken, scallops, carrots and broccolini were all delicious. Will definitely go back again.

Their appetizers are out of this world—we couldn’t get enough of the focaccia and burrata; whatever they put in there is seriously addictive! The beef carpaccio and steak tartare were just as incredible. And the mains? We had to pause and take it all in because they were that good! We tried the cacio e pepe, spaghetti alla nerano, and tortellini—each one was perfection. For dessert, the tiramisu was a flawless 10/10. The service was exceptional, and we felt truly taken care of. Huge compliments to the chef and staff — we can’t wait to come back!

He and his staff prepared a delicious tasting menu with seasonal ingredients from various regions of Japan. Sitting at the counter and interacting with Chef Izutsu while he prepared the meal was a very enjoyable and memorable experience. The food and service were both excellent, and we would highly recommend Yukashi.
