Le Garrick, located in London's theatreland, is an intimate French restaurant. There is a homely restaurant at ground level, while at lower ground level the friendly bar/dining room has intimate nooks and booths for romantic moments. Expect classics and favourites of French bistro cooking; Faux filet Rib Eye or Onglet with sauce poivre or Béarnaise & French fries. For pudding choose from Crème brulée or Lemon tart among the classic desserts. The 2/C prix fixe menu is a lifesaver pre-theatre. In an area that's full of chains, Le Garrick is a one-off. Annual celebrations in the restaurant for Beaujolais Nouveau and Bastille Day. Perfectly located for Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square.

The pre-theatre menu was great value for money and very tasty. Steak Frites plus Bearnaise sauce as a main was delicious. The starter of French Onion Soup was very nice, but the only criticism was that I would have liked the bread to have been toasted, but that was a minor point. Our train was delayed, so we were 45 mins late taking up the table, but the staff were great to serve our food up quickly (but not rushed) so that we made it to the theatre in time. Thank you.

What a fantastic restaurant! Wonderful food, great atmosphere and lovely staff. We had the pre-theatre menu which was great value. Loved the French onion soup, steak and the lemon tart, which was one of the best I have ever had. Amazing !

Our cheese fondue entree was fine. My moules frites main course was DREADFUL - the mussels had either been overcooked or reheated and were chewy and tasteless. The worst I have eaten in 40 years...Shame on such a well-established restaurant, and a French one at that!

I’ve been meaning to come to Le Garrick for a while as it’s always good to have a range of options in this area. I’m glad I have. It’s a good value French bistro. It won’t blow your socks off, but it won’t blow your budget either. My onglet steak was well cooked & a better piece of meat than is served in several other restaurants in the vicinity; the French fries were excellent. Only the peppercorn sauce was a bit of a let down. The green salad was good if unadventurous, but at least made up of a variety of fresh leaves (one’s grateful for small mercies sometimes). Pleasant if a little skimpy crème brûlée. Good wine list not overpriced for the most part. Efficient and assured service. I like the catacomby basement, which definitely has atmosphere and could be romantic if you got the right table in a nook (and didn’t have anyone else too close). Quite a young vibe and I can imagine it’s a good place for small parties (6-8) friends to gather.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and found that the downstairs area was very small and cramped with an excessive number of tables. We were so close to the couple at the table next to us, that we were subjected to listening to their conversation throughout our dinner. In the terms of the main course, we reserved a table at this restaurant specifically to enjoy a plate of cassoulet. Sadly we have enjoyed cassoulet at other French restaurants, specifically in Franshoek, South Africa, however this meal lacked the flavours we have previously experienced. Service was prompt and the pricing very reasonable.
