- JJaniceWashington, D.C. Area •18 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoThis was a great meal for our last dinner in Charlottesville. We had two misses during the visit and Cafe Frank was exactly what we needed. The halibut was perfectly cooked, the steak frites were delicious and our server, Dillon, was fantastic. We will definitely return on a future visit.More infoCafe FrankPrice: Expensive• Contemporary French / American• Charlottesville•4.7
- MMarkVirginia •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoSecond time here. Just my wife and I this time. Lovely experience. Alex, an undergraduate student at UVA, was a perfect waiter. Plenty of fresh food, and if you enjoy a bit of DIY during the dining process, you'll enjoy it. They honored an expired coupon, which we appreciated (glad we asked). Had the 4-course Valentine's Day "experience" paired with a bottle of white wine. Perfect evening.More infoThe Melting Pot - CharlottesvillePrice: Expensive• Fondue• Charlottesville•4.5
- OTOpenTable DinerVirginia •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoWe attended on Feb 15th from out of town, so the menu was a prefix for a specific price that included a three course dinner so the value on the normal menu is not considered in my review. The duck confit and filet of beef were both outstanding. Flavored perfectly and not too overpowering. My wife ordered the scallops (salted perfectly) and rack of lamb in which she enjoyed as well. The salsa verde with the lamb was to die for. The citrus really complimented the lamb. I really have no complaints about the food quality as it was all amazing. It was delicious and well worth the price of the prefix. The chocolate bread pudding was heavy for me, but I am not a big dessert person. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the coconut cake with chocolate sauce. The ambiance was quiet (second floor) and we felt a bit underdressed (lot of suits and dresses), but we understand many were out on a valentines dinner. Our server was attentive and funny, but not over bearing, and had some great suggestions for us (pointed me towards the chocolate bread pudding over the strawberry sundae). Although the cost is upper tier, the food was dynamite and we would definitely return for a special occasion. Definitely a memorable night where we left absolutely stuffed and pleasantly surprised.More infoC&OPrice: Very Expensive• American• Charlottesville•4.9
- DDeweyVirginia •6 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoThis place never fails to offer excellent food and wine with friendly and efficient service. It is one of the very best fine dining restaurants in Charlottesville. The changing menu always seems to feature a good range of classic dishes that are very well prepared.More infoHamiltons' At First & MainPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Charlottesville•4.8
- DDavidVirginia •5 reviews5.0Dined on 9 Feb 2025My wife and I had a dinner on a Saturday night - we showed up an hour early because our night was a little more fluid than expected. We were able to get a seat at the bar (which we love), and it wasn't an issue, even though they were quite busy. We started with Edamame, each had a cocktail and a glass of wine - the ginger gimlet was delicious. I had two rolls and my wife had 1, and each was amazing. The Spicy toro and dragon roll have never disappointed - and the spicy toro has become one of my favorites. It was the night of Tony Bennett being honored at the UVA men's Basketball game, and 30 minutes after we arrived, a handful of former players, including two current NBA players came in to enjoy Ten, a sign that the restaurant is remembered well by those who have been in Cville, and quality enough for men that can afford the best a town has to offer!More infoTenPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Charlottesville•4.9
