CHAR in Huntsville is always a delight. From the moment you are greeted and then seated, everything is cordial, professional, and tasty. Alex, our wait person, was helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The eight-ounce filet was cooked perfectly medium-rare, tender, and juicy. The salad had excellent portions and was a nice balance of complementary greens. The wine list is superior to most of Huntsville's restaurants. And the desert was great, as always: perfectly smooth creme brulet with a thin bruleed sugar top and the pecan pie with ice cream and caramel could not have been better. We will return to Char often!

The service was amazing, food excellent. I gave cost 4 stars because it’s expensive but one should expect that. Noise level was high. The restaurant was full and someone had a squelling child that lasted around 30 minutes before the child got quiet or left.

The view is spectacular. We were pleased with our steak burgers. Service was prompt. The only thing that felt odd was the seating process. We requested an outside table through the app and were seated on the upper deck outside. The hostess told us that we could not sit on the lower deck because those tables could only not be reserved via Open Table. So, if you want the best views, call the restaurant.

The new restaurant developed by chef Julia Sullivan is up and running, with excellent food, cheerful service and good wine (liquor to follow). The venue is the former laundry at Sewanee near the intersection of University Avenue and hwy 41A. It has a high ceiling and many windows with a full length bar and spacious seating. The opening went without apparent hitch and the food continues the delicious high quality of Sullivan's highly regarded restaurant in Nashville, Henrietta Red. It is a wonderful addition to the dining scene on the Cumberland Plateau.

Food was good and service was great. Bobby was a gem!
