My husband took me here for my birthday... we had never eaten there before. Many standard things that caught my attention on our first experience there: They check guest coats so you don't have to worry about hanging it over your chair at the table. For every table they were spreading rose petals out as they seat you. For my birthday, they printed out a special menu that wished me Happy Birthday personally, and all the staff had signed it. All original signatures; no copies. They took a Polaroid pic of us and gave it to us before we left. The Manager made a stop at our table to see how dinner was going (as I'm sure he does for everyone) but made the effort to also wish me a happy birthday. The food was delish and plated so professionally. I declined dessert, but they still brought out two chocolate covered strawberries with whipped cream and raspberries, topped off with a lit candle and 'Happy Birthday' spelled out in chocolate drizzle. The atmosphere, decor, table and chairs was also wonderfully put together. This establishment has attention to detail like I've never experienced before! It was an absolutely wonderful evening!

Great experience, as always. If you find yourself in Auburn IN, this is one of the best dining spots you will find.

Overall very good. I always get the steak salad. Sometimes it is excellent and sometimes okay. Yesterday the flavor was great but it seemed a little fatty for a filet. The service was good. I will definitely go back and I would recommend.

First time at Farmhouse. Food and service were excellent. The food is on the more expensive side for Hillsdale County, but very good.

From the moment we entered the restaurant we were catered to down to the last detail. Hostess was bright cheery and very friendly. We were a few minutes early, so I thought maybe we’d have to wait, but our table was ready for us as soon as we walked in the door. Front of house manager, Michael came over and spoke to us at the table as we were being seated. Asked if us if he could grab anything for us, it was a very nice touch and made us feel welcome. Our waitress came right over and got the kids drinks and some cocktails for me and my wife. She explained the specials very well and made sure the kids got some bread and butter right away. Michael, the manager, he was on top of it as well, as soon as rolls were gone, he made sure my kids had more Food and drinks came out in a timely manner, and all were excellent. I started with a nice craft beer, Shorty‘s old fashion during the salad. And a nice house Cabernet during dinner. I had the special, blue cheese crusted filet mignon.  After the meal even chef, James came out to our table to thank us, and make sure that everything came out per ordered. I would highly recommend Shorty’s. Seems like the staff is trained in hospitality and the food is so delicious .
