Merchants serves Scottish cuisine in one of the most bustling areas of Edinburgh.     First time visitor . Booked roof top terrace weeks in advance , knowing it was taking a chance in November. Right enough snow storm hit day of our visit . Staff phoned to make us aware of weather and moved our booking inside ,few hours later another call from staff to say grassmarket had a power cut and phoned again when electricity was back on … visited had a great night ( only drinks didn’t order food) … all made possible by the great communication by the staff … will def visit again

    This was one of the best meals we have ever had. The steak medallions dinner was so tasty and the various pudding we shared were brilliant too. It was great value for money. We would 100% recommend this place to anyone who asks.

    This was a great find. If you like whisky, this is a place for you. Great selection and a choice of different whisky's selections to try. Both the Haggis neeps and tatties and Scottish Salmon were both amazing.

    Amazing food, presented and taste was fantastic. Complimentary oysters were a nice touch. We had Cullen skink and scallops for starter, both excellent but the Cullen skink in particular was exceptional Mussels and sea bass for main course again both dishes were amazing. Would recommend
