The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks.The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats.     I dont often try new places as quite often you're left disappointed.... but this place is brilliant. Chilled, good food, good service and not expensive. fed 4 adults with service charge and drinks for £90... not bad.

    The food was Delicious and the service was excellent. However on returning home and looking over the bill we discovered we had been charged for drinks that we didn't have. There was four of us and we had 5 drinks.Our food was 4 Roasts with extras & 3 desserts which totalled £112.50. Our bill with drinks totalled £155.10 Plus Discretionary 12.5% service charge came to £174.51. The Lord High Admiral was recommended to us for their Sunday Roast which was very tasty but I prefer to have it as my choice to leave a tip or not and to get charged on top for drinks we never had leaves a question on their service and how attentive they really are. Not sure I would return even though we thoroughly enjoyed the food. I suggest you check your bill before you leave.
