Our menu changes often and is always being developed by our very talented Head Chef and his team. Along with a great food offering, we are challenging boundaries with our selection of 25 gins, 10 whiskeys and many more superior sprits, we always try to have an alternative rather than using main stream brands behind the bar, ensuring our guests receive the best possible value for money we can provide whilst experiencing a better than expected product. We opened our first restaurant in Castlefield, Manchester in 2004 with a clear aim: To deliver quality food to local customers at a reasonable price in a sharp, modern space with friendly, unpretentious service. We have pursued that goal ever since and it has earned us many loyal customers. Our menu is probably classed as British with some additional favourites from Italy and around the globe. We are thrilled to have been selected to take over The iconic Stickle Barn in Great Langdale. The building has been managed by The National Trust for the last 10 years but with so many other huge projects they decided to find a local operator to take over the mantle and continue their great work.Lanty Slee would of regularly passed The Stickle Barn on his way to Wrynose Pass which he used to travel to Ravenglass for supplies, a 4 day round trip by pack horse, accompanied by his faithful lurcher to alert him of any excise men laying in wait!We took over at the end of May and spent 5 weeks renovating the building and getting ready for the summer, we hope you love what we have done and we have lots more planned for the coming months.We offer amazing cakes, coffee, local ales, Lanty spirit, hand crafted cocktails, nibbles, hearty meals and good times from 10am to 10pm every day.     All the food was fab. Cumberland sausage, Brisket with pearl onion and red wine stew, steak burger, chicken burger were all great as were the sides - all spot on with clean plates. The staff were very welcoming, our 1 and 2 year old loved their pizza and chips and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Thank you for a lovely afternoon ! Plus the cost for the meals including drinks was very reasonable 😊

    Always great. Atmosphere and service amazing as always. Bar drinks lively. Starters amazing, masala prawns and crab croquettes. Main chicken nice, main halloumi salad rubbish, all leaves no halloumi burnt cauliflower. Prices so reasonable.

    Great value for money. Used the 2-3 course lunch menu with some lovely food choices and apart from the soup being a little salty, we enjoyed our meal. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the place is just lovely

    We do have high expectations! Quaint olde Pub! Excellent service. Delicious exceptional food at a very reasonable price. If staying close to Cartmel you must visit. We thoroughly enjoyed so much that we visited for a delicious breakfast too another day!! All homecooked to order. A definite visit.
