Entering the Saloon, a family owned restaurant since it opened in 1967 is a bit like stepping into Philadelphia's past. Dark oak paneling, shiny brass and authentic local antiques create a warm congenial and casual atmosphere. The choice of two comfortable dining rooms each with its own vintage bars make dining and conversation a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Both bars feature a delicious and moderately priced food menu. The menu is Italian with seafood specials such as grilled octopus and dover sole. Saloon steaks and veal chops are legendary. Many prefer a plate of fried long hot peppers to compliment the steaks. All desserts and gelatos are made on the premises daily. The Saloon is a Philadelphia neighborhood bar and restaurant with a national reputation. And the parking is FREE!

Our goal is to focus heavily on freshness and quality, as we make craft noodles and sushi for our guests. That also means we will be making everything from scratch, in-house.     We ordered a wonderful Brussels sprout salad and 2 large pizzas for a hungry table of 3 people. With a reservation we were seated quickly by the friendly staff. Everything tasted great but the pizza was just not hot. It was disappointing so we packed up the pizza to go and ordered dessert (which we would have ordered regardless). Dessert was good. No hot coffee or tea available. Would have loved a cup of decaf with the apple pie ala mode This was our second trip to Emmy’s. We will go again.

    Went for a birthday celebration and Twisted Tail did not disappoint! Food and drinks were excellent. Service was very attentive. After dinner, the music upstairs was fun! Will be back soon!

    This was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The dishes are so beautifully composed and presented. The service was impeccable and the staff was super knowledgable about all potential allergens and ingredients. Just perfection. It didn’t hurt that my favorite movies were playing on the big screen. The “crab” cakes and broccoli are must-have dishes.
