Restaurants near Seven Lakes Ranger Station

We had a fabulous gal's lunch on Friday at Boom and Batten. We were seated at table #34 on the upper level. Our server was amazing! Our water glasses were filled before the glasses were empty, and the same applied for our coffee cups. Although the food was a little pricey every bite was delicious! The restaurant was quite busy but we were able to hear each other talk . I will definitely be returning!

The prime rib stuffed Yorkshire pudding seasonal appetizer was wonderful! We shared our usual bacon-wrapped fillet, and it was perfectly cooked and deliciousious as always. We were in a bit of a rush, and our waiter, Chan, graciously accommodated our needs. (Next time I’ll do a better job scheduling.) You can’t go wrong g at The Keg!

The ambience and decorations for Christmas were lovely. Our waiter who we have had before and has worked there for three years was excellent.

We had dinner in the lounge on a quiet Monday. Well spaced tables and a peaceful atmosphere. Service was friendly and calmly professional. Bottomless mussels with fries and in house bread was a bargain and a treat. Sablefish scored high marks by my dining partner. Desert was original and outstanding in taste and proportion. Wine prices not bad and modest but good selection.

The food and service were excellent. The only complaint I have is that the lights were WAY too bright. When one has an evening meal in a lovely setting - it shouldn't be necessary to wear a ball cap so the lights don't glare in your eyes. Besides the regular hanging lights which were pretty bright - there were can-lights in the ceiling with very strong bulbs in them. This really ruined the ambience. Made it feel more like we were dining in a cafeteria instead of a steakhouse. All - in all, that is the ONLY thing that made this meal deviate from being absolutely perfect. The chef even made my salmon well done - as I requested. (I know they don't normally appreciate cooking something differently than what is considered proper.) But, I REALLY appreciated that. The calamari were excellent - fresh and tender. My 'extra dirty' martini was even perfect. This is our go-to place for bringing out of town guests because we know the food and location make it a very special place to eat.
