Located in Oakland’s historic Grand Lake District, Bardo is a neighborhood lounge and restaurant inspired by the comfort and camaraderie of a mid-century dinner party. Drawing on the celebration and elegance of old school entertaining, we envisioned a space for friends and neighbors to enjoy amazing food, cocktails, conversation and great music. Our lounge is a swank living room, furnished with hand-picked finds from antique and vintage markets from Palm Springs to Portland. Our mezzanine dining room features a rotating menu of fresh, seasonal supper-fare with local and sustainably sourced meats, fish and produce. While we think the food, drinks and atmosphere are all great reasons to visit us, it’s the relationships with our friends, neighbors and guests that is the driving force behind Bardo.

Chef-owner, Giuseppe Naccarelli presents a seasonally inspired menu of classic Italian dishes with a modern twist, influenced by the cuisine of his native region of Abruzzo. A Trabocco is a unique fishing pier found along the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. Architect and Designer Lev Weisbach of Weisbach Architecture|Design was inspired by the beautiful Trabocchi of Abruzzo when he created his spectacular design.     We had such an amazing time! We ordered the Dinner Party Menu, and it was a perfect mix of everything. All of the food was absolutely delicious, and we scraped every single plate. We also really enjoyed sitting at the bar, and Anthony, the bartender made us some fantastic drinks based on our preferences and what we were eating,

     Jos exceeded our expectations all around. We came in not super hungry from a late lunch and still ended up enjoying three courses. Delicious fresh herb mixes with each dish and fantastic service! We’ll be back soon.

    We have been dining here for over 11 years, we live in Green Valley and travel over an hour, usually to get here due to traffic. It’s absolutely worth it. Thank you to Giuseppe and Christine, and all of their wonderful staff. Tonight our server was Nico and he was wonderful! The food is always so delicious and fresh, but even more importantly, our service is always top-notch. Thank you so much always. Wade and Christine Coleman

    This was my first time here and I really enjoyed it. The service was really good and so was the food & cocktails. I had the lamb chops, which were seasoned to perfection, chefs kiss. The Pink Flamingo cocktail was delicious. I accidentally left my to go boxes, called the restaurant, and she remembered me and kept my food at the front for me, so I went back to grab it. I will definitely be back.
