Restaurants near Royal United Hospital

Our servers were lovely and very friendly. The food was delicious and we all cleared our plates, even my daughter who is a very picky eater. We will definitely go back. One issue we had was Bill’s was very busy given it was half term and they had a kids eat free deal on which is why we booked. We weren’t able to be seated for nearly 20 minutes after we arrived as they had no tables free. It had a knock on effect for our afternoon as we were much later leaving than we had planned for meaning we had to skip our plans to make the train. Being more prepared for busy spells to ensure bookings aren’t delayed in being seated would be something I hope the team address in the future.

We went to The Marlborough Tavern for Sunday lunch and they did not disappoint. Food was first class, great portion sizes and elegantly presented. We all had a Sunday roast, beef and pork belly, it was truly delicious! The pub is also fur friendly and they provided a water bowl for our doggy. We had a table by the fire, it was perfect with lots of space and not too near the main door or the lavatory. The decor is simple and elegant in a traditional design. Will definitely visit again, good value for money with the excellent quality of food produce.

A great experience from start to finish. Imaginative menu with numerous options - any of which I could happily have chosen. Friendly and helpful staff, who made us welcome. Superb attention to detail. First visit, definitely not the last.
