Restaurants near Royal Air Force Station Wendling

It’s been a while since we’ve had an Assembly House afternoon tea and had forgotten quite how good they are compared to others available. We were warmly greeted at restaurant reception and quickly shown to our table. After a suitable time gap our drinks request was taken by a friendly and efficient staff member, our pots of tea soon arriving. Our multi tiered tea stand then arrived with an explanation of all the delights thereon, with a request to just ask when we were ready for our scones and/or wanted our second pot of tea. Every tier was a delight as were the scones. Several other tables opted for the ‘doggie box’ but I’m afraid we scoffed the lot. We have a Norfolk Passport card so we’re entitled to a 10% discount. A lovely ‘afternoon out’, delightful food in a charming setting with very pleasant staff. Thank you.

Went for the Sunday roast. You won’t want starter AND pudding with their helping!!! great roast dinner and an amazing pudding. Service was exceptional as always. Many thanks for a great lunch. Will be back!!

We were a party of 6 and this was our first time at The Ivy and it certainly didn’t disappoint! The service was from start to finish was excellent and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and we especially loved the festive snowman dessert! There is so much attention to detail at The Ivy especially with the festivities. We had the best evening and will definitely be returning!

We were heading out for a sail with Coastal Explorations in the morning and were staying in the area. Someone recommended this restaurant and we weren't disappointed. From the aperitif to the dessert via some amazing dishes including spaghetti with hazelnuts to chicory with pears and walnuts, we went on an incredible and unexpected food journey. The drinks were delicious and also not overpriced. Those serving us were super friendly and helpful and the overall ambiance was welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

A nice pub with good food, good beer and pleasant surroundings. Staff were accommodating. Will visit again.
