First visit. Everything was fantastic. Only issue was that our drinks ran dry halfway through dinner. Waiter was slow to notice and took a bit longer to get the next round. Everyone was finished eating at that point. Would have made the evening perfect had that not been missed.

First time we've been back since the COVID debacle where you had to order from a QR code and gratiouty was added. Not sure who decided that was a good idea, but they were wrong. Wife and I went for Valentine's Day dinner. Looked like it was reservation only, which made for a nice atmosphere without ton of people crowded around the hostess stand. Ambiance was great, as was the food and service. We were pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed all aspects of our meal. Boathouse at Sunday Park redeemed itself last night and we will be back.

Took my long-time friend for Valentine's Day. We have never tried 1870. I made a reservation a month in advance because it was Valentine's Day. We were seated on the second floor, the Jewett Room. They only have four tables in the room so compared to the bar area, it was quiet. We had a table for 4, so for the 2 of us we had plenty of room. My date started with a cocktail, "The Mother of all President's", which was fabulous. The service was terrific, special shout out to our waiter Jacob. The meal was perfectly prepared. We both had the 6 oz filet mignon and it was so flavorful and tender. We shared the sauteed spinach and au gratin potatoes. For dessert, we split the dark chocolate tart, which went well with our bottle of Caymas Cabernet. I highly recommend for a special occasion. We heard they have a great happy hour, so we will definitely return and check it out.

The food and the service were excellent. Cannot recommend trying this place enough. This is our first time eating here and we will absolutely be coming back.
