Restaurants near Puuhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park

It was our first time at the Fish Hopper Restaurant. Parking can be an issue as the lot is very small considering the number of seats inside. It was fun watching the people on the street and the activity in the water (swimmer, boats, etc.). Once in a while a vehicle went by blasting music, but hey, that is life on Ali,i Drive. Overall, we liked it and will be back at some point (too many other places we want to try).

Our fam of 4 requested outside seating and expectation was met. Service was impeccable! We were always promptly served and checked on — questions were happily answered and added info given without inquiry! IAN was too notch! Manager also came over to introduce himself and check on our contentment with meal. Food was delicious. Loved the Kampachi done warayaki style. The corn ribs are a must! The Nikko cocktail drink was delicious and refreshing. The Goose dirty martinis gave option for blue cheese olives and it was off the hook! Coffee Semifreddo was like nothing we’d tried and with the banana side flavor …made it a must! Cost here is $$$$$ but if you’re looking for a memorable and special dining experience while on Island— this fits the bill!

We’ve been to big island 4 times now and this is always a must visit. You do need a reservation and you’ll still wait 10-15 minutes but the food is always great. It’s not cheap but that’s typical for Hawaiian restaurants, expect to pay more for an excellent meal and you won’t be disappointed

Surprisingly good fish and lovely views with excellent service. Looked like a tourist trap but was super glad we went.

Amazing waitstaff coffee and breakfast items. If you order pancakes the plan on sharing them. Lots of food.
