Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton—the women behind Canal House Station—are cooks, writers, and artists. In 2007 they founded Canal House, which includes a publishing venture and a culinary, photography, and design studio. Their cookbook "Canal House Cooks Every Day" received a James Beard Award in 2012. In 2019, Christopher and Melissa opened Canal House Station, a hidden gem tucked into an elegantly restored 1870s train station on the banks of the Delaware River in Milford, NJ. Their idiosyncratic, modern American cuisine is inspired by local ingredients that are ripe and in season in Hunterdon and Bucks County.     Outstanding and fun! 4 of us attended Friday Spaghetti night with "local's" along with joined tables, beautiful warm environment, perfect service and the home made pasta bolognese with a crisp salad, just right garlic bread and homemade Tiramisu ice cream was just what we needed on a cold December evening. Can't wait to return!

    We have now eaten at Finnbar several times since its opening several months ago. It is such a wonderful dining experience with fabulous food, a warm and friendly atmosphere, a delightful staff, and its setting in the lovely community of Frenchtown is a perfect destination any time of year. We give special kudos to Stephanie who makes the most amazing chocolate pot de creme! We would come to Finnbar if it was the only thing on the menu!
